Serco Group is recruiting Prison Custody Officers to join the operational team at HMP Thameside in London. This is a full-time, on-site public service role focused on maintaining safety, security, and rehabilitation within a custodial environment.

Role Overview
As a Prison Custody Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of inmates, staff, and visitors while supporting rehabilitation programmes aimed at reducing reoffending.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise prisoners in residential wings and activity areas
• Conduct routine security checks and patrols
• Escort prisoners to work, education, and healthcare appointments
• Maintain accurate incident and security reports
• De-escalate conflicts and manage challenging situations
• Support rehabilitation and education initiatives
• Ensure compliance with prison safety regulations
• Participate in emergency response procedures

Training & Certification
• Fully paid initial custody officer training programme
• Conflict management and restraint training
• First aid certification
• Ongoing professional development

Eligibility & Requirements
• Minimum age requirement as per custodial regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must pass enhanced background and security checks
• Eligible to work in the UK

Compliance & Security
• Adherence to Ministry of Justice regulations
• Completion of enhanced DBS and security clearance
• Strict confidentiality standards
