Siemens UK is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering division in Frimley. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) operating on a hybrid model (3 days office-based, 2 days remote).

Role Overview

You will be responsible for developing mechanical designs for industrial and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with UK engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design mechanical components using CAD software
Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications
Conduct stress and tolerance analysis
Perform design validation and verification testing
Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers
Review and approve supplier design submissions
Support prototype development and testing
Prepare technical documentation and reports
Conduct risk assessments and FMEA analysis
Ensure compliance with BS and ISO standards
Participate in design reviews
Support manufacturing teams during production
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
Manage configuration control documentation
Education & Certifications

Mandatory:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Optional:

Chartered Engineer (CEng) pathway
SolidWorks / AutoCAD certification
Six Sigma Green Belt
