Octopus Energy is recruiting Energy Operations Analysts to join our Brighton office. This hybrid graduate role supports the operational backbone of one of the UK’s fastest-growing renewable energy suppliers.
Role Overview
As an Energy Operations Analyst, you will analyse energy usage data, support billing operations, and contribute to process improvements that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse smart meter and consumption data
• Support billing accuracy and reconciliation processes
• Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements
• Assist in regulatory reporting submissions
• Work cross-functionally with tech and customer teams
• Monitor performance KPIs across energy supply operations
• Prepare dashboards and internal reports
• Contribute to renewable energy optimisation projects
Tools & Technologies
• SQL (preferred but not mandatory)
• Excel / Google Sheets (advanced functions)
• Internal data analytics platforms
• Energy billing systems
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to interpret complex datasets
• Interest in renewable energy and sustainability
• Strong communication skills
Compliance & Regulatory
• Understanding of Ofgem energy regulations (training provided)
• GDPR compliance for customer data
• Adherence to industry reporting standards
