BT Group is offering a 12-month Cyber Security Placement within its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Bristol. This opportunity provides hands-on experience supporting the protection of the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure.

Role Overview
As a Cyber Security Placement Student, you will work alongside experienced analysts to monitor security threats, support incident response activities, and assist in maintaining secure network environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor network traffic and identify suspicious activity
• Assist in analysing security alerts and logs
• Support incident response investigations
• Document security incidents and prepare reports
• Participate in vulnerability assessments
• Contribute to security improvement initiatives
• Assist in compliance documentation and audits

Tools & Technologies
• SIEM platforms
• Network monitoring systems
• Vulnerability scanning tools
• Security dashboards

Eligibility
• Enrolled in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, or related programme
• Basic understanding of networking principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be eligible to work in the UK
